Children in the region of Darfur, Sudan.
The war in Darfur is so sad... It doesn't make any sense to me. I don't understand how anyone would want to destroy an entire ethnic group. If you don't know what's going on, here's the back story:
Northern Sudan is consisted of Arab Muslims. Southern Sudan is consisted of Black Christians. Northern and Southern Sudan had a civil war over the distribution of oil profits throughout the country. Southern Sudan won and received 49% of the oil. Black Muslims in Darfur, a region in Western Sudan, started a rebellion because they felt they were being left out of the bunch. They were angry that they weren't receiving any benefits or improvements to their area of the country. The government in Northern Sudan hired Arab Muslims in Darfur to attack them and remove their existence with military weapons, which were provided by China, who buys 70% of Sudan's oil.
So to sum it up, Arab Muslims from Darfur are trying to eliminate Black Muslims in Darfur. Not only are they trying to eliminate them, but they are also pushing them further into the Sahara Desert. And you thought the United States was the only country experiencing racial conflicts... In Sudan, Blacks are considered less worthy. They are often left out of everything, because the Arabs think they are better. SERIOUSLY, PEOPLE?!
*sigh* I still don't understand, yo... It's like another Holocaust. All these people are dying, and for WHAT?! They justed wanted some damn help and some damn improvements. Bombs are being dropped in villages, janjaweeds [translated: devils on horseback] are riding through, shooting up all the men, and raping all the women. It's INSANE! We need to do something about this, ya'll... Cause once again, it just doesn't make sense! It's genocide!
